The Role
Veteran sales leader who will lead a growing team of sellers focused on identifying, developing, and nurturing customer relationships to drive consistent revenue growth within Regional Sales, Corporate Majors and New Business Development. The ideal candidate will provide strategic sales direction, demonstrate superior industry knowledge, and attract and develop a high-performing team of sales directors and individual contributors. The GVP is accountable for the execution of the tower sales strategy, sales forecasting, and achieving quarterly and annual performance targets.As a hands-on sales leader, they will actively coach and guide their Sr. Leaders and team to drive consistent sales execution and will directly engage on strategic deals when needed to successfully close business.
What you'll do
Management & People Development:
- Recruit, hire and retain a high performing sales team (sales directors, individual contributors and other key sales support team members).
- Coach and develop team; provide input into account planning, territory design, and incentive plan design.
- High level of focus on building a positive sales culture and team.
- Proactively resolve conflicts and roadblocks to enable successful execution.
- High availability to team members, peers and key accounts.
Market & Sales Planning: - Work with sales and marketing stakeholders to understand and address market opportunities.
- Develop and execute the tower sales strategy, as well as instill account planning discipline.
Sales Execution: - Work with sales and marketing teams to develop robust account plans for strategic customer accounts.
- Ability to work with customer leadership and key influencers to drive new sales opportunities and growth.
- Work with direct reports to coach and provide support on key opportunities.
- Leverage deal reviews and sales forecast meetings to de-risk opportunities and reinforce a consistent selling approach.
- Ensure team and individual performance is actively measured against stated targets and objectives.
- Understands thesales model in addition to Wyndham's chain scales, properties and quality levels to ensure end customer / property fit.
You'll be successful if you haveLeadership: - Develops relationships and establishes credibility with top executives and key influencers at large strategic travel demand aggregators that act on behalf of their end customers.
- Viewed across the Third-Party organizations asa strategic advisor that continually demonstrates business expertise while bringing new ideas to the table to drive net-new business.
- Strategically focused; provides clear, concise and compellingmessages.
- Very strong listening, presentation and negotiationskills.
Solution Selling: - Expert understanding of Wyndham strengths and offerings.
- Ability to articulate the Wyndham's value proposition from the customer perspective in order to effectively train sales teams.
- Enable sales teams to sell value leveraging a solution-selling approach that effectively matches demand with supply.
Business Acumen: - Advanced business model understanding of Regional Sales, Corporate and New Business Development, with experience selling across these sub-segments.
- Ability to guide Third Party and account-focused Wyndham sales teams to effectively sell in a multi-tier model (i.e., Third Party provider + accounts).
- Ability to review market conditions and advise customers of opportunities and collaborate on a strategy/sales development plans.
Technical Acumen: - Deep knowledge of hospitality and lodging industry, andmarket dynamics.
- Expert-level strategic account management, solution selling, negotiation and team-building skills.
Required Qualifications/Experience - Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 15 years previous working experience, including at least 6 years of sales leadership experience.
- Experience managing annual quotas in excess of $250M.
- Experience managing a team of 10+ experienced sales directors and individual contributors.
- Deep understanding of the segment areas: Regional Sales, Corporate Majors and New Business Development
- Experience instilling a consultative selling approach at scale.
