Dubai, July 2022: Hadir Omar was recently appointed Director of Sales of the newly rebranded voco Bonnington Dubai, bringing 16 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry to the role.
Hadir graduated with a degree in Journalism and Media, from ISIC in Rabat, Morocco. Following her graduation, she worked in a variety of fields including: a journalist intern, call center agent & researcher, marketing agent, PR Manager, and airport manager for Thomas Cook UK- head office Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
This early career diversity gave Hadir valuable experience across a myriad of sectors that would certainly benefit and bolster her sales career.
It was the role of Sales Coordinator at JW Marriott Marquis that brought Hadir to Dubai in 2012, giving her an insight into a UAE-based sales and marketing role. Next on the rung of her ladder was Sofitel The Palm, where Hadir worked her way up from Inspired Meeting Planner to Manager.
After progressing to Cluster Sales Manager, Groups & MICE at Gloria Hotels & Resorts and Yassat Hotel, Hadir set her sights on leading the way as Operations Manager at Gezira Travel, DMCC.
2018 marked the beginning of a 4.5-year stint at Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers. She joined as Head of Groups & Events/Leisure where she excelled in her role, to then be promoted to Assistant Director of Sales where she successfully implemented a long-term sales strategy and actionable plan to consistently hit quarterly targets.
Adept, flexible, and willing to evolve with the ever-changing needs of the business meant Hadir was key in the integration of Marriott & Starwood from a system, branding, and policy perspective.
Hadir always kept her finger on the pulse of the profit target by consistently developing sales action plans, by creating appealing offers and sales that would resonate with a UAE & GCC audience, always resulting in a burst of revenue for the property. Believing that people are very much at the heart of the hospitality business, she mentored and guided her team, teaching them valuable sales techniques that would bolster their careers.
Now Hadir has joined voco Bonnington Dubai as Director of Sales and she is ready to make her mark on this recently transformed JLT property. She aims to diversify business segments, enhance hotel performance, penetrate new feeder markets, strengthen brand positioning, and increase revenue and profits.
