Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport & Conference Centre. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position coordinates the activities of the HR department in order to ensure they meet the organization's goals. This role is pivotal in supporting various HR functions and ensuring a positive employee experience. You will be instrumental in fostering a productive work environment and enhancing employee relations.
* Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies
• Implement various training programs to enhance employee skills and performance
• Oversee the preparation of reports
• Support payroll processing using ADP workforce now while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Input and maintain accurate data of employee files
• Post internal and external job postings; assist with screening candidates; extend job offers; conduct background and reference checks
• Conduct onboarding sessions for new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the company culture
• Coordinate and deploy team appreciation events and recognition programs
• Monitor, maintain and update Marriott training platform
• Champion CSR initiatives to support Marriott's Serve 360 commitment
• Benefit administration for union and non-union plans
• Work with HRD on workplace injuries using a step-up process
• Attends JHSC meetings and distributes minutes, inspections and agendas
• Conduct monthly orientation including brand service training programs
• Inform HR Director of issues related to employee relations within the property
• Serves as Human Resources subject matter expert on employment legislation, HR policies and procedures and compliance
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and proprietary information
• Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely
• Participate in monthly rotational lobby duty roster
• All other reasonable duties as required by management
Job Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management
• 3+ years experience working in a hotel Human Resources department
• Excellent computer skills
• Experience working with ADP workforce now is preferred
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Manage a large administrative workload
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees at all levels
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion
