JOB SUMMARY
The General Manager provides leadership and management in all property operations including staffing, budgeting, forecasting, P&L responsibilities, sales & marketing, guest services and facilities management. They cultivate a positive work environment, an attitude of exceptional guest service, superior room cleanliness and enforce policies and procedures established by NCG and the property brand.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Plans, develops, coordinates and implements the day-to-day operations of the property.
• Oversees property staffing to include recruitment & selection, orientation, training & development, scheduling, counseling, performance management, and other team member relations' issues.
• Cultivates an inclusive culture; maintaining a fun, safe, and supportive environment for team members to thrive.
• Provides exceptional guest service to all guests setting the standards for all team members to follow.
• Maintains personal contact with guests, clients and community organizations.
• Prepares annual operating budget to include a sales, marketing and revenue management plan.
• Leads all sales efforts and revenue management for the property.
• Plans, develops and implements the Forecasting Report and Budgeting Report for the property.
• Analyzes financial performance by comparing actual performance to planned performance, identifying variances, initiating corrective action and completes Variance Report.
• Ensures that all company and brand standards are followed.
• Ensures that all certifications are complete and up to date (CPR/alcohol serving).
• Maintains product and service quality standards by implementing policies and procedures, investigating deficiencies/complaints, and initiating corrective action.
• Inspects guestrooms to ensure all cleanliness standards are met for North Central Management, Inc. and the property brand.
• Monitors and maintains procedures for control of supplies, keys, monies and credit.
• Monitors and maintains procedures for safety and security of property staff and guests.
Secondary Job Responsibilities
• Is trained and able to perform any position at the property.
• Responds to all emergency situations as needed, including locating and shutting down of gas valves, water valves, fire system and elevators.
• Remains current on industry trends and local market activities; responds to the same.
• Additional responsibilities assigned by Regional Vice President/Director of Operations or Area General Manager.
Qualifications

• College degree or related work experience.
• Five or more years of hotel experience with three years in a management position.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to speak clearly and listen attentively.

• Positive attitude, outgoing and friendly personality.
• Strong leadership and a professional image.
