Job Description For Gardener

Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, VCA hospitality management, LLC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

Typical Duties:
- Irrigates, mows, rakes and trims lawns
- Picks up and dispose of litter
- Trims and edges around walk-ways, flower beds and walls
- Performs weeding activities
- Water and fertilizes trees, greens, etc.
- Reports any dying plant for immediate replacement
- Fertilize plants every 3 months
- Ensures plants are watered from 5:00am until 10:30am in the assigned area
- Ensure the drain is clean at all times
- Inspects equipment before use
- Ensures all equipment is cleaned before storing
- Ensures parking lot is swept and debris is picked up on a daily basis
- Attends weekly departmental meeting
- Any other reasonable duties as required
- Performs other similar or related duties as necessary

Responsible for the upkeep of the Resort's grounds

Education/Qualifications:
- Gardening certificate

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong physical condition
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance
- Team player

Working conditions:
This position operates in the field.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report defective equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; protect company assets. Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
