This is a temporary position.
The Senior Manager, Market Research will use leading market research techniques to generate key consumer and competitive insights that guide and support Marriott International's brand and portfolio strategy efforts. This position is responsible for conducting and managing an integrated set of international survey research projects that evaluate and track the effectiveness of Marriott's brands and businesses and monitor competitor moves in support of stakeholders across the enterprise. Responsibilities will include supporting stakeholder collaboration and alignment efforts, as well as managing vendors to execute against market research needs and ensuring the creation of high-caliber client-ready presentations covering insights from the market research efforts. This role will work closely with the extended Brand, Operations and VOC Analytics team.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
• 5+ years of professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance in consumer research
• Demonstrated expertise in consumer research methods (e.g. survey design, statistics, sampling theory, in cross-cultural settings - highly desirable).
• Experience leading high-profile quantitative market research projects (e.g., global brand tracking studies, customer segmentation studies, conjoint studies).
• Outstanding vendor management and project management skills
• Highly effective oral/written communication abilities and solid presentation skills
• Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
Education and Experience Preferred
• Prior hospitality industry experience preferred, but not required
• Masters or other advanced degree in a marketing or research discipline
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Lead and manage market research efforts, with a focus on projects supporting brand and portfolio strategy
• Plans and leads execution of quantitative market research efforts, supporting the development of brand and portfolio strategy
• Follows standards of practice to design and execute market research projects
• Reviews vendor processes, data deliverables, and reporting to ensure accurate and high-quality insights
Delivers on the Needs of Key Stakeholders
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with enterprise stakeholders
• Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work on specific projects.
• Provides expertise on research needs for portfolio and brand strategy
• Communicates concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand.
• Provides accurate and timely results in the form of dashboards, reports, presentations, etc.
• Demonstrates an understanding of research priorities.
The pay range for this position is $47.35 to $76.88 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
