This is a temporary position.
As a member of the U.S. East Region - MSB MxM Finance team, the Senior Manager - Divestitures & Openings, provides financial leadership, expertise and consultative support to regional and property teams for Managed Marriott Select Brand properties in the U.S. This leader will contribute a high level of specialized financial leadership to support divestitures/conversions and new hotel openings, with a primary focus on Marriott Select Brands (MSB).
The Senior Manager will be the single point of contact (POC) to lead the execution of accounting and finance transactions, and reporting and analysis for all properties across the U.S. This position will partner with the Openings/Divestiture team, MSB Finance Leaders, Development, Asset Management, Operations, AHS and other key business partners/stakeholders to develop consistency and document a governance process for all divestitures and openings for the finance discipline. The Senior Manager must be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, identifying appropriate solutions, anticipating challenges, and devising and executing approaches to deliver against current and future priorities.
Approximately 25% travel expected.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
BS/BA in accounting, finance or related field required.
5+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
Preferred
Property DFA/Sr. Assistant DFA and/or transaction experience preferred.
Experience working in an above property or multi-unit capacity with multiple stakeholders preferred.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Develop, document, and execute a consistent approach for managing and processing property divestitures, conversions, and openings including the due diligence process, transaction preparation and timeframe tracking, final accounting review, hotel tour coordination, and reserve estimates.
Coordination with owners that are the buyer and seller to ensure compliance with the Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA).
Develop, document and execute a consistent approach for managing and processing property openings including the following accounting/finance functions: Develop a pre-opening budget in coordination with the MSB team, prior to the hiring of the General Manager.
Estimate working capital, detail the pre-opening budget for cash flow purposes, load the budget into Peoplesoft and work with AHS to coordinate the pre-opening invoice process.
Ensure bank accounts are established in accordance with the Management Agreement
Provide support to the Senior Director during conversions, leveraging processes documented and established for property openings.
Ensures appropriate controls are in place and are consistent with company policies and procedures.
Maintains integrity, accuracy and consistency of financial processes and transactions.
Communicates timely and effectively with stakeholders; keeping them apprised of all issues/challenges.
The pay range for this position is $47.35 to $73.61 per hour.
