This is a temporary position.
The Senior Director, Service Operations will play a critical role in establishing Marriott International's centralized IT Asset Management (ITAM) capability. This foundational leadership position will build and operationalize processes and governance structures that transform how IT assets, including hardware, software, cloud, and digital assets, are managed globally. Working closely with Configuration Management, this role is accountable for defining asset management strategy, lifecycle practices, and compliance frameworks in close collaboration with finance, procurement, cybersecurity, and technology leadership.
The Senior Director will deliver clear visibility, effective asset tracking, optimized financial performance, and rigorous compliance standards. This leader will leverage best practices and innovative technologies to establish a mature, scalable IT asset management foundation that enables business agility, risk reduction, and cost transparency across Marriott's global footprint.
The Senior Director, Service Operations will establish a foundational capability critical to Marriott's continued global growth and innovation. By centralizing asset management and establishing robust processes and governance, this role will significantly enhance operational efficiency, reduce risks, and create financial transparency. This leader will position Marriott as a benchmark organization for global IT Asset Management value realization.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
Required:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of experience, education, and certifications
• 10+ years of leadership experience building and managing enterprise-wide IT asset management programs
• Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management, including procurement, licensing, optimization, and retirement
• Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing global IT asset governance frameworks and compliance processes
• Proven leadership in influencing senior stakeholders and leading strategic change across global organizations at scale
• Experience managing budgets exceeding $10M annually
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred:
• Advanced degree, certifications, and/or MBA
• IT Asset Management (ITAM), ITIL, or ISO 19770 certifications
• Experience implementing global-scale ITAM tools and systems in complex environments
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization (FinOps) and SaaS license management strategies
• Experience working in hospitality, retail, or distributed enterprise environments

Strategic Leadership & Capability Development
• Establish Marriott's global IT asset management vision, strategy, and roadmap
• Build standardized processes and lifecycle frameworks to manage all IT asset types effectively
• Develop foundational governance and compliance structures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and cost control
• Drive the centralization of disparate asset management activities into one cohesive, globally aligned function
Operational Excellence & Process Implementation
• Define, implement, and manage global IT asset lifecycle processes, including procurement, deployment, management, and disposition
• Establish robust reporting capabilities using analytics to provide transparency into asset utilization, financial management, and compliance
• Lead the implementation of tools and automation systems that enable accurate, efficient tracking and reporting of assets
• Regularly conduct compliance audits and risk assessments to maintain regulatory and internal control alignment
Stakeholder Engagement & Financial Leadership
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, cybersecurity, and technology teams to integrate asset management practices across the organization
• Lead initiatives to optimize asset investments, enhance financial forecasting, and improve budget management
• Regularly provide clear, actionable insights to senior leadership regarding asset management strategy, performance, and risk
• Manage the service operations budget, ensuring investments in technology, tools, and personnel align with strategic priorities.
• Oversee relationships with external service providers, including MSPs, ensuring compliance with SLAs and overall value in optimizing the use of third-party resources.
Team Building & Leadership
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing global team of asset management specialists
• Promote a culture focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and professional growth
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and performance-oriented interdependent team environment

• Leverage existing technology investments to improve and automate existing processes or to develop new capabilities and business outcomes

The pay range for this position is $68.12 to $115.38 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
