Job Description For FLEX Manager - Openings Business Support - Process
This is a temporary position.
The Manager of Support, Hotel Openings & Transitions - Process, will support the overall department in terms of technology as well as play a role in hotel opening operations team support. The manager will be responsible for maintaining existing support platforms as well as providing recommendations to leadership on technology to create efficiencies in business and hotel opening processes. The manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and support to hotel openings based on specific brands. The manager will work with a diverse group of individuals including hotel staff, business owners, many different Marriott departments and other outside resources. This role focuses on improving business processes and enhancing team efficiency through technology. It involves implementing strong internal controls, documenting and standardizing processes, and acting as a consultant for support systems like Teams and Critical Path. Additionally, it aims to boost communication effectiveness within the department.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
- Proficient in variety of software packages including Microsoft Office suite, Teams, Smart Sheet, and Critical Path
- Independent self-starter with enthusiasm, motivation and the drive to generate new ideas and approaches to managing events financials
- Notable experience working in matrix organizations with senior leadership and the ability to work effectively in cross functional teams while managing up to the executive level
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines concurrently; effective use of time management and prioritization skills
Preferred
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a business related field
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES - Develop actionable recommendations to identify and address business challenges and opportunities with regards to technology to strengthen business processes
- Identify trends, present recommendations and develop plans for implementation to senior leadership in support of the Openings & Transitions business support team
- Manage hotel/event/project specific sites on Teams as it relates to the sharing of program specific documents, processes and financial information
- Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes
- Implement strong internal controls in relation to technology processes
- Document current processes and works on process improvement and standardization
- Consistently recognize and share opportunities to implement processes, procedures, and technology for increased team efficiency across all levels within the department
- Act as department primary consultant for opening support systems such as Teams, Oasis and Critical Path
- Identify opportunities to enhance the department communication effectiveness through technology
- Manage and run reports, monitor key metrics and communicate to internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor Openings Support mailbox, triages requests and responds in partnership with other subject matter experts
- Perform other reason job duties as requested
- Up to 25% of travel required
The pay range for this position is $35.48 to $59.81 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
