Job Description For FLEX Director, Digital Product Intelligence
This is a temporary position.
The FLEX Director, Digital Product Intelligence leads a team dedicated to delivering actionable insights that drive business growth and elevate customer experiences across Marriott's global digital platforms, including mobile apps, marriott.com, brand sites, hotel websites, and onsite touchpoints (e.g., mobile key, in-room television, chat). The Director develops analytics strategies and roadmap to deliver insights and knowledge for action, while managing multiple competing priorities and stakeholders. You will provide thought leadership on how to leverage digital analytics and adobe data to drive better decisions across the company. An ideal candidate is a player coach who has leadership experience, technical, consultative and relationship management skills. This person should also be knowledgeable in the latest digital analytics solutions and technologies. This position is part of the broader Global Insight, Strategy + Analytics team, which is charged with developing and utilizing state-of-the-art analytic approaches to generate business intelligence about customer attitudes and behaviors across all customer-facing touch points along the B2C and B2B customer journeys.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Math, or other quantitative discipline
- 7+ years of digital, product or e-commerce experience demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
- Extensive hands-on experience with digital analytics tools, including Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and others, demonstrating a deep understanding of digital data analysis and its practical applications
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with a demonstrated ability to design and optimize complex queries and manage large datasets effectively
- Experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI or other similar data visualization and business intelligence tools
- Strong data analysis skills and experience, including querying and manipulation of billions of records of data, independently structuring analysis and synthesizing large volumes of complex information from multiple sources, synthesizing insights into stellar visualizations, and applying strong knowledge of statistical analysis techniques.
- Excellent project management and verbal and written communication skills, especially in the context of managing processes and delivering technical analysis across diverse stakeholder set
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of statistical methods with regards to study design and analysis
Education and Experience Preferred - Experience leading, designing, and analyzing marketing or digital experimentation (A/B or MVT)
- Demonstrates strong judgment in uncertain situations, knowing when to dig deeper into analysis while balancing quick decisions with data-driven insights
- Thrives on collaboration, skillfully bridging business requirements with the necessary insights and analytics to help the business achieve its goals
- A quick learner who is resourceful and eager to make an impact, with strong ownership and the ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced environment, managing evolving challenges, ambiguity, and minimal supervision effectively
- Knowledge of Python, R, SAS, or other statistical modeling tools
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES - Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our digital products and guest experiences
- Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve digital products, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations
- Optimizes e-commerce conversion funnels and improving digital experiences, products, and features through rigorous testing and continuous improvement across the entire customer journey-from inspiration through the guest experience
- Partners with product and analytics implementation teams to ensure we are capturing relevant data; collaborates with data engineering teams to get appropriate datasets built in a format that streamlines analysis and enables automation and reporting
- Conducts in-depth analysis and provides insights to drive growth and innovation, guiding product investments and roadmaps with a focus on boosting customer lifetime value, enhancing loyalty, optimizing conversion funnels, improving the customer experience, and achieving key business outcomes
- Analyze user interactions with digital loyalty features like enrollment, point accrual, redemption, and member tier progression, evaluating their impact on user retention and lifetime value.
- Integrate and analyze various data types, including clickstream, transactional, session recordings, customer feedback, operational, marketing, loyalty membership, and user engagement data, to provide comprehensive insights into digital product performance and user behavior
- Utilizes advanced analytics tools to uncover opportunities across our e-commerce sites and apps, analyzes underlying drivers, and develops hypotheses that guide actionable planning in collaboration with partners
- Translates complex data into compelling narratives that drive decision-making, using persuasive storytelling, visuals and presentations to clearly communicate insights and influence key stakeholders
- Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, leveraging data-driven insights to drive change, tackle challenges, inspire adoption, and identify opportunities in alignment with broader business objectives
- Analyzes customer needs and behaviors, with a continual curiosity to uncover new trends and insights in digital travel products, aiming to enhance user satisfaction and drive innovative solutions
- Serves as a trusted partner by deepening our understanding of customers, products, and business operations through data-driven insights that guide digital strategy, initiatives, and decision-making
- Supports additional projects and provides team support as necessary
The pay range for this position is $69.27 to $92.50 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
