Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting a Finance intern to join a team made of modern and authentic hospitality professionals in the newest luxury lifestyle hotel in Milan.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in pursuing a career in finance, offering hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of financial activities.
- This is full-time position, 5 days a week with 2 days off.
- The starting date is estimated in April.

What you'll doACCOUNT PAYABLE - Assisting in entering of outstanding invoices into the hotels accounts payable system, whilst ensuring correct assignment of general codes.
- 2Monitoring and checking of all creditor statements to ensure the hotel remains 'current' in its payments, whilst also ensuring full recognition all potential expenditures.
- Ensuring prior to month-end all unpaid invoices are entered into the accounts payable system. Assisting with list of any required accruals.
- Responding to all vendor queries on a timely basis.
- Assist in other general accounting functions as needed or required by the accounts payable / purchasing officer / director of Finance.
GENERAL CASHIER - Assisting with preparing and consolidating the hotel's daily deposit, and verify Overages & Shortages.
- Follow all SOP's and LSOP's pertaining to the General Cashier and cash handling.
INCOME AUDIT - Collect all checks on daily basis.
- Verify Office Check and fill dedicated report accurately on daily basis
- Ensure all back up data is filed accurately and efficiently; in order to be able to trace the source of all postings.
- Collect signatures from Department Heads within 5 business days if missed in Officer Checks.
GENERAL ACCOUNTING FUNCTION - Assist Finance Department on monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Assist Finance Department with month end Journal entry and accrual process
- Assist Finance Department with Internal and External audit functions
- Assist Finance Department with VAT Reports
What you'll need: - Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (knowledge of advanced functions is a plus)
- Passion for guidelines, procedures and systems.
- Attention to detail, problem solving skills and multitasking ability.
- At least intermediate English and Italian (both written and spoken).
- A positive, people- and team-oriented attitude.
