POSITION SUMMARY
- Cross sell and upsell all hotel facilities and services and Marriott Brands.
- To ensure credit facilities, as required, are in place.
- Check the accuracy of client bills before they are sent out.
- To work closely with the group coordinator, ensuring all contracts are correct and completed.
- Ensure guest service standards for the various types of functions within the catering department meet clients' needs.
- Ensure that all operating standards comply with the company and hotel policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the Banquet Manager and floor operations team ensuring the correct standards and methods of service maintained, as per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Participate in 14 day meetings outlining current and future business.
- Maintain and utilise detailed client history files.
- Handle all Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and planning with client.
- Meet with clients on day of event.
- Always be accessible to the client in all forms of communication and respond to messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage the turnover of events.
- Responsible for the co-ordination of the hotel's events, internal functions and social events, feeling empowered to make an impact
- Analyse and create detailed Banquet Event Orders that are tailored to client requirements
- Assist and coordinate event arrangements to exceed guest expectations and fuel their curiosity
- Work closely with the sales team to maximise business leads
- Collaborate with associates and other departments to deliver service excellence with each customer experience
- Complete event administration tasks and offer general support to the team
- Responsible for the execution & coordination of the hotel's events, internal functions and social events
- Analyse and create detailed Banquet Event Orders that are tailored to client requirements -fueling guests' curiosity and inspiring brilliance
- Effectively handle event arrangements to exceed guest expectations
- Work closely with the sales team to maximise all potential business leads
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers, anticipating their needs and enabling future bookings
- Support the hotel's service and relationship strategy, engaging and inspiring guests with each customer experience
- Collaborate with associates and other departments as the main point of contact for events & functions.
- Communicate information to the manager/supervisor by documenting pertinent information in the appropriate department logbook.
- Inspect the grooming and attire of staff and rectify any deficiencies.
- Communicate with guests, other employees, or departments to ensure guest needs are met.
- Ensure staff works together as a team to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Respond to and try to fulfil any special banquet event arrangements guests request.
- Inspect and maintain table set-ups for cleanliness, neatness, and agreement with group requirements and company standards, as well as resolve any problems.
- Follow up on special banquet event arrangements requested by guests to ensure compliance.
- Ensure all administrative duties are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend all relevant department and hotel meetings.
- The hotel requires that you will follow established Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations and demonstrate duty of care to all of our associates.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Marriott Rewards Program.
