JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Retail, GC will be an ecommerce and retail expert. The successful candidate will have a proven understanding of all aspects of online and offline sales channel conversion including merchandising, promotions, analytics and product capabilities. This leader will be a big picture thinker who is also detail and results-oriented, organized and committed to flawless execution. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a track record of success in driving sales and managing trade partnerships to maximize business opportunities, an inspirational leader who can articulate a vision and lead organizational teams and partnerships to realize it. The candidate should have the ability to influence at an executive level through exceptional business acumen, domain expertise and gravitas.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
- Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of strategic and tactical execution within the eCommerce/Online Retail industry in Greater China
- Strong familiarity with third-party marketplaces, e-commerce operations in the hospitality and lifestyle sectors, and a proven ability to manage trade partnerships.
- Exceptional leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and relationship management skills. Ability to manage owned priorities while partnering in a large organization with several competing resource constraints.
Preferred
- Experience planning, negotiating, buying and optimizing a variety of paid marketing campaigns to drive awareness and a direct response.
- Strong familiarity with strategies and tactics driving retail sales through marketplaces and social channels.
- Experience with common KPIs and analytics for measuring business objectives and sharing to various levels of management.
- Fluent English and Mandarin (spoken and written)
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES - Strategic Planning and Business Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive online retail strategy that aligns with our brand's vision and growth objectives.
- Create and manage an annual business plan that includes sales forecasts, budget allocations, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify new market opportunities and drive the expansion of our online presence in the Greater China region.
- E-commerce Operations and Sales Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our e-commerce platforms, ensuring optimal customer experience and sales conversion.
- Manage and analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth and meet or exceed targets.
- Merchandising and Marketing:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling product stories and promotional campaigns that resonate with our target audience.
- Manage the product assortment strategy, ensuring our online offerings are competitive and meet consumer demands.
- Trade Partner Management and Business Acquisition:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, including third-party marketplaces and distributors.
- Identify and secure new trade partnerships that can enhance our brand's reach and drive additional sales opportunities.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with trade partners to maximize profitability and market share.
- Brand Awareness and Customer Engagement:
- Drive brand awareness and loyalty through effective online marketing and social media strategies.
- Monitor and adapt to changes in the e-commerce, retail, and marketing environment to serve the organization's objectives effectively.
- Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing e-commerce team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer service, to ensure seamless integration of online retail initiatives.
