JOB SUMMARY
The Director, On-Property Communications and Change Management, is a key member of Marriott's Business Transformation Office team, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Change Management, Strategy Planning + Execution. This position is responsible for planning and executing the day-to-day change management and communications activities for on-property associates impacted by Marriott's Digital + Technology Transformation. The program is a multi-year effort to transform Marriott's technology and business process ecosystem, enabling Marriott to deliver on our vision to become the world's favorite travel company.
This role will build upon our existing Digital and Technology Transformation change management strategy to create and execute the change management plan, including the creation of communications materials and related deliverables for on-property associates throughout the program's deployment journey, from Prepare to Stabilize. This role will partner closely with colleagues throughout the entire program - including (but not limited to) PMO, Deployment, XD + Business Process Design, Learning, Continent Planning and Testing Teams.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing change management plans, recognition programs, and communication materials, as well as monitoring change readiness and adoption activities. Success in this role requires strong critical thinking skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to be a self-starter who thrives in ambiguous situations. This candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent work efforts at the same time and possess the resilience to handle challenging and time-sensitive tasks effectively.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Requirements
Education & Work Experience
• 4-year degree from an accredited university required; advanced degree strongly preferred
• 8+ years of direct experience in a similar role (specifically change management, stakeholder engagement, communications, or deployment); demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance
• Extensive experience with large-scale business transformation, including technology deployment changes, strongly preferred in hospitality
• Experience working in or on behalf of (i.e., consulting) a large-scale, global enterprise strongly preferred
Changement Management & Communication Skills
• Demonstrated proficiency conducting change impact assessments including documenting and validating changes.
• Exceptional written communication skills including experience developing clear, concise, and logically written business communications including Powerpoint presentations, talking points, job aids, and email communications
• Strong verbal communication skills including proven ability to run workshops, facilitate sessions, and effectively communicate and present information to stakeholders
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
• Change management certification (e.g. ProSci, CCMP, CMS) preferred

• Proven ability to navigate, influence, and build relationships within a large, complex, matrix organization

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marriott Digital + Technology Transformation Change Management Plan and Execution:
• Plans and executes the stakeholder and change impact analysis for on-property associates.
• Partners with the Senior Director and colleagues from the Transformation Office to create and execute a comprehensive change management plan and related deliverables for on-property associates.
• Creates and executes a comprehensive change management plan and related deliverables to drive the required behavior change and shift to desired behavior.
• Works closely with Continent, Deployment, Learning and other teams to meet defined success measures.
• Develops and distributes required change and deployment deliverables (e.g., presentations, job aids, communications, etc.).
• Identifies, proposes solutions for and manages resolution of issues and risks to change management plan.
Marriott Digital + Technology Transformation Recognition Program
• Creates and executes the Recognition Program which may include gamification, celebratory events, competitions, awards, and/or new supporting tools.
• Develops approach and cadence for quick wins along the journey as well as recognizing positive behaviors.
• Partners with colleagues and the continents to create a forum for listening to what's going well and what's not - ensuring both celebrations and pain points are addressed.
Marriott Digital + Technology Transformation Change Management Measurement and Analytics
• Directs the day-to-day change readiness and change adoption activities, including scorecards and appropriate forums.
• Monitors, detects and manages change readiness and adoption through the change journey for on-property associates.
• Executes change readiness survey for deployment community; compiles results and applies learnings to change management plans iteratively.
• Creates a change management scorecard in partnership with deployment and learning to help identify wins and challenges with change adoption.
• Shares insight and impacts from analytics with senior leaders as well as recommendations to help steer program in the right direction.
Marriott Digital + Technology Transformation Change Communication Materials Production
• Develops and executes Change Communications deliverables, including - but not limited to - webinars, email messages, PowerPoint presentations, job aids, change guides, etc.
• Develops targeted communications for associates describing change, preparation, rollout measurements and milestones.
• Works collaboratively with a variety of key stakeholders both within the Business Transformation office and across the company to ensure alignment and consistency with broader organizational communication efforts.
• Partners with continent Change Management teams to tailor change communications plans and effectively disseminate key messages.
The salary range for this position is $125,600 to $173,200 annually.
