Job Description For Director of Sustainability

JOB SUMMARY

Supports all aspects of the pool and beach areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, cleanliness and the operation of cabana units. Provides and models service behavior to guests and employees. Reinforces appropriate culture to provide service to guests. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility. Position works with direct reports to implement departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while meeting financial goals.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sustainability operations or related professional area.

OR
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Sustainability

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include: • Developing and implementing a sustainability strategy aligned with the company's goals • Monitoring organizational measurement indicators as well as communication efforts and progress to management • Establishing a realistic sustainability roadmap and defining clear policies and guidelines to meet the company's ESG and sustainability objectives • Addressing opportunities across the organization by leading corporate sustainability initiatives and strategies • Participating in the improvement of corporate tools, such as the company's guide to internal sustainable practices, its responsible procurement policy, and its responsible travel policy • Developing annual and long-term sustainable development goals and setting science-based targets • Preparing the company's annual and sustainability reports • Advising and sharing your expertise with stakeholders across the company • Engaging with the broader sustainability community to build partnerships and share best practices Qualifications We are looking for a candidate with: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field • 7+ years of experience in sustainability, with a track record of developing and executing successful sustainability strategies • Knowledge and experience in global environmental standards and frameworks, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and others • Experience designing or redesigning a sustainability program • Excellent written skills and effective public speaking abilities • Experience and ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams • The ability to communicate effectively with people of different hierarchical levels • A passion for helping build a better planet (Insert company name and brief description of the company) is currently looking for a Director of Sustainability to join our team.
