Position Summary
The Director of Sales and Marketing oversees and drives the sales and marketing strategies for the resort. This role is responsible for maximizing revenue, building brand awareness, and ensuring the property attracts both new and returning guests. The Director works closely with other departments to create cohesive campaigns, set pricing strategies, manage advertising, and lead a team to meet revenue targets. Develop relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other partners to expand market reach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to maximize hotel revenue.
• Analyse market trends, competitor performance, and customer insights to identify new sales opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Set annual sales targets and key performance indicators in alignment with hotel goals.
• Lead and manage the sales and marketing team, including setting clear objectives, conducting training, and monitoring performance.
• Ensure the team is highly motivated and aligned with the company's vision and goals.
• Oversee the hotel's brand image and ensure consistency across all marketing channels.
• Direct advertising, public relations, and digital marketing efforts, including website content, social media, SEO, and email campaigns.
• Lead the creation and execution of promotional campaigns and events to increase visibility and bookings.
• Work closely with the Revenue Manager to set pricing strategies and optimize room rates based on market conditions and demand.
• Monitor sales performance and adjust campaigns or strategies to meet financial goals.
• Develop relationships with key clients, travel agencies, tour operators, and corporate clients to drive business.
• Negotiate contracts, sponsorships, and special packages with clients or external organizations.
• Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the property.
• Conduct in-depth research on competitors, market trends, and customer preferences.
• Provide detailed reports and analysis on sales performance, trends, and campaign effectiveness to senior management.
• Utilize CRM systems to track customer interactions, bookings, and feedback.
• Work with the customer service team to ensure a seamless experience for both corporate and leisure guests, with a focus on loyalty programs.
• Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI.
• Review and approve all marketing and advertising expenditures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• Several years of experience in sales, marketing, or a management position in the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue and managing teams.
• Strong team management and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong sales acumen with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Experience with online marketing channels.
• Proficiency in data analysis and using marketing metrics to inform strategy.
• Familiarity with CRM tools, sales software, and Microsoft Office; knowledge of hospitality management systems is a plus.
Job Environment:
• Often requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
• Office based at the resort, but travel may be required to meet clients or attend events.
• Works closely with hotel management, operations, front desk, and other departments to ensure a cohesive sales and marketing strategy.
