Position Summary
The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and guiding the company's financial success and stability. This role involves managing the company's financial planning, reporting, and risk management processes, as well as ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Director of Finance plays a critical role in shaping the organization's financial goals and objectives and making strategic decisions that drive the company's success.
Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
•Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management to guide decision-making and strategic planning.
•Manage the company's budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure financial targets are met.
•Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts, and annual reports.
•Ensure compliance with all financial reporting regulations, accounting principles and internal controls.
•Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
•Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
•Ensure the company complies with all relevant financial laws, regulations, and industry standards.
•Oversee audits and work with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely audit reports.
•Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and strategic investments.
•Oversee investment strategies and capital structure to ensure financial stability and growth.
•Lead and mentor the finance department, ensuring that staff are well trained and motivated to perform at a high level.
•Work closely with other senior leaders to set company-wide financial goals and priorities.
•Collaborate with other department heads (e.g., Operations, Marketing, Sales) to understand their financial needs and provide support to help achieve the company's objectives.
•Analyze and optimize the organization's cost structure, identifying areas for efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
•Implement financial systems and processes that improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•A bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree or CPA is preferred).
•Extensive experience of 5 years or more in finance and accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. Hospitality background is preferred.
•Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
•Expertise in financial modeling, risk management, and compliance.
•Excellent leadership and team management skills.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
•Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
