Job Description For Director, Development Strategy Support, Greater China (Full Potential)
JOB SUMMARY
The addition of new hotels is one of the principal drivers of Marriott's earnings growth strategy and an important element in maintaining and advancing the quality and brand equity of Marriott's Lodging System. The company's unit growth strategy in the region includes the acquisition of hotel management contracts as well as licensing of our hotel brands to third party owner-operators under franchise agreements.
The Director, Development Strategy Support, will primarily support the CDO and GC Development team leaders, in conducting research, providing analysis, develop and execute Development strategy plans.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5-10 years of work experience in hotel development or hotel feasibility.
- In-depth knowledge of hotel market in China.
Preferred
- Experience or understanding of domestic hotel companies' above-property operation, the development of a new brand is a plus.
- Ability to work with and understand data and to use strategically to forward development efforts.
- Excellent English written and verbal skills, including strong editing and proofreading abilities. Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin and English.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES - Stay abreast with China's lodging market trends and competitive landscape.
- Collecting external and internal data to conduct relevant analysis for each market tier (luxury, premium and select) and assist in developing development strategy document as appropriate or directed.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders in preparing any analysis and development strategy documents (PowerPoint or Word as appropriate).
- Act as project manager in executing the development strategy. Liaise with internal stakeholders and conduct regular meetings, provide documentation to ensure action items are completed and ensure the strategy is executed as planned.
