JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the Human Resources organization, he/she contributes a high level of human resource strategic and generalist knowledge and expertise for the Customer Engagement Centers (CEC). Supporting the GM the DHR will be accountable for overall HR strategy applied to the CEC site and ensuring alignment in the delivery of talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management, associate engagement, and development for site employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to help influence and execute brand/business service strategy/initiatives and business objectives in the most efficient manner. This role also encompasses responsibility for the CEC in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Jakarta. Additionally, he/she utilizes a Human Resource strategy that is aligned with business objectives and goals for the CEC Sites to deliver HR services that enable business success. As a member of the site Senior team, develops and implements strategies across the CEC that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the customer and site Associates and provides a return on investment to the broader organizational interests while developing and implementing efficiencies in the CEC site.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 4 years' experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
OR
• 4-year bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years' experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Leading and Managing Human Resources Strategy
- Develops the strategy and ensures the effective execution across site of the Global & Area Human Resources business plan by facilitating communication, collaboration of efforts and sharing expertise across the Area.
- Delivers sound results across site by championing implementations, tracking results, problem solving, and leveraging efforts wherever possible.
- Coordinates strategies within the CEC Site to ensure cohesiveness and consistency with CEC and company standards, leveraging skills and best practice within the HR team.
- Reviews HR practices across site and drives efforts to improve operational efficiencies.
- Translates business priorities into CEC site Human Resources strategies, plans, and actions.
- Partners with Area Director of Human Resources to ensure that site Human Resources strategies, plans and actions are in alignment with Global & Area Human Resources strategies and the overall strategic Human Resources framework for the organization.
- Leads the overall strategy, planning, evaluation, resourcing, and follow-up of engagement survey related activities, in collaboration with the appropriate business and discipline partners.
- Champions and builds the talent management pool in line with the company diversity strategy.
- Serves as key change agent for initiatives that have high employee impact.
- Monitors effective use of HR Systems / data accuracy.
Creates value through proactive approaches and collaboration with CEC Site colleagues, Specialty and co-located teams that will affect performance outcome or control cost within disciplines. - Coordinates and participates in human capital planning activities in the market, as appropriate.
Leads the strategy, implementation, and sustainability of Human Resources initiatives. - Attends operational and CEC meetings as a member of the executive committee and provides meaning or context to the Human Resources results. (e.g., retention statistics, critical open positions, employee satisfaction, and training initiatives and results); and demonstrates an understanding of site and Area priorities
Managing the Staffing and Recruiting Process - Partners with site management teams to ensure all talent acquisition avenues are leveraged. Be part of the final hire and coach / support Human Resources staff members who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity, and leadership to meet the employee relations needs of the property.
- Serves as coach and expert facilitator of selection process and interviewing procedures.
- Partners with the site leadership, specialty, and co-located teams to analyze open positions to balance the development of existing talent and business needs.
- Coordinates with site leadership to manage their human capital planning process and identify talent.
- Develops staffing strategies and hiring practices; consults with hiring manager on compensation, benefits, etc.
- Maintains an overview to ensure managers are competent in evaluating and hiring hourly employees.
Overseeing Benefits Education and Administration - Acts as the lead in the planning and managing of the CEC site total compensation strategy.
- Manages all Benefit process and renewals across the site to ensure that benefits are relevant, up to date and reflect local market trends at all times.
- Manages site payroll process in conjunction with site Finance and external third-party provider.
Managing Employee Compensation Strategy - Prepares, analyzes, and distributes and acts on results of Compensation and Benefit data and reports / internal equity management.
- Documents and provides input on any out of guidelines management compensation adjustments for regional approval.
- Drives implementation and maintenance of total compensation management packages/offers, particularly recognition and incentive programs directed towards sites priorities.
- Keeps current and knowledgeable in the internal and external compensation and work competitive environments.
Managing Staff Development Activities - Manages and collaborates with the wider HR team, sharing best practice and ensuring work environment related activities are completed and issues are addressed.
- Reviews with the property leadership team and ensures compliance with training initiatives.
- Ensures completion of the duties and responsibilities of the properties' Human Resources staff members, as outlined in applicable job description(s).
- Ensures property HR are properly trained in all employee-related human resource technology, process, and policy to appropriately respond to employee inquiries and anticipate employee needs
- Serves as resource to Site Human Resources staff on employee relations questions and issues.
ComplianceDrives for the site overall Legal and Marriott Policy compliance within the site ensuring that the site is legally compliant and ensuring all policy is implemented as required regarding:
- Immigration and all right to work compliance.
- Employee Relations
- HR Review
- All Financial Audit requirements that HR contribute to such as ISRA and Audit Lite
- Payroll compliance and reporting
- MHub data accuracy
