Job Description
Convention Service Manager
We are seeking a Convention Service Manager to join our team at Sheraton Park Hotel at Anaheim by Aimbridge Hospitality . Reporting directly to the Director of Catering and Event Services and the Director of Sales and Marketing, this role is responsible for planning, detailing, and executing special events, meetings, and conferences for groups secured by the sales and catering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in full-service hotels, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional event experiences.
What will you do?
Plan, coordinate, and execute special events, meetings, and conferences for groups sold by the sales and catering team.
Conduct detailing calls, in-person site visits, and menu tastings to ensure seamless event execution.
Create and distribute event orders and group resumes while overseeing group room blocks.
Negotiate contracts and vendor service agreements for outside services.
Review final bills and ensure timely payment processing.
Maintain and organize sales files according to company standards.
Consult with clients to determine event details such as expected attendance, display space requirements, and food service schedules.
Work closely with Banquets, A/V, and other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
Coordinate and organize Pre- and Post-Convention meetings.
Attend team meetings, including monthly all-employee gatherings and bi-weekly F&B meetings.
Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality sales policies, safety standards, and brand requirements.
Uphold high standards of personal appearance, grooming, and professional behavior.
About you:
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years in a hotel, hospitality, or related field preferred.
Experience in event planning, sales, or catering is a plus.
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to handle guest concerns effectively.
Proficiency in Windows operating systems and related hotel software.
Knowledge of financial data, contract negotiations, and vendor agreements.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Hospitality, Business, or related fields is preferred.
