Job Description For Chef de Partie
POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate will uphold the highest standards of food preparation, sanitation, and guest satisfaction while contributing innovative ideas to enhance our dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with sanitation and health regulations.
- Collaborate with the Chef to review assignments and prepare for varying business levels.
- Prepare ingredients (portioning, chopping, storing) and complete prep work between meal services.
- Cook and prepare dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Test food for quality and doneness using appropriate methods (tasting, smelling, or piercing).
- Monitor food quality, ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing.
- Serve food in accurate portions and maintain food presentation standards.
- Manage inventory to minimize waste, control food costs, and identify shortages.
- Assist and guide Stewards to optimize efficiency in clean-up processes.
- Contribute creative ideas and take leadership in the absence of the Chef or Sous Chef.
- Ensure the kitchen area and tools are clean, sanitized, and safe for use.
- Maintain equipment and food storage temperatures.
Additional Responsibilities - Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, and unsafe conditions to management.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work collaboratively with the team and communicate effectively.
- Support operational goals and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications - Work Experience: At least 3-5 years of culinary experience with a focus on Italian cuisine.
- Supervisory Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Skills: Expertise in Italian culinary techniques and a strong understanding of Italian ingredients and flavors.
