W Sydney located at 31 Wheat Road is hiring an Account Director. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Distribution, this integral role will primarily focus on pro-active sales and Corporate and Group lead generation. You will focus on driving Corporate Project Rate and Entertainment conversion, maximize revenue, and increase market share across the segments of rooms, Beverage & Food, events, group FIT, spa, and other revenue generating sources. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Representing the W brand in all sales activities in line with W Hotels and Marriott International's corporate strategies;
- Drive pro-active sales activities for the Hotel, in conjunction with the Marketing, Sales and Events Teams;
- Develop, grow, sustain, maximise, and yield business across the Groups and Long-Stay segment to exceed budgeted revenue;
- Build and maintain close working relationships with Marriott International's Global Sales Team network and ANZP Market Team to maximise business for W Sydney;
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with (not limited to) key global, national, and local corporate clients for events business, PCOs and MICE agencies;
- Produce Weekly Sales Report and maintain a quarter calendar listing proposed calls as required;
- Undertake and arrange Insider Tours and Familiarisation programs for clients across segmentations with strong potential to produce business for W Sydney;
- Represent W Sydney and Marriott International at relevant functions, tradeshows, conventions, and events which may include interstate and overseas sales trips;
- Identify, execute, and implement promotions, strategies, and special events within the sales client remit in conjunction with the DOSD and in line with brand standards and tone of voice;
- Be fully versed across all relevant Marriott International loyalty programs to maximise business opportunities for W Sydney;
- Work closely with the DOSD and Group, Catering and Event Sales Leader to develop and implement strategies to maximise long stay business;
- Provide a monthly Sales report which highlights sales actives for the previous month in addition to future actions and results for the Owner's and GM Reports.
- Be able to work under pressure with the focus on achieving W Sydney's performance metrics.
- Ensure recovery calls/responses are dealt with in an appropriate manner and in accordance with brand teachings.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Management and/or Hotel/Tourism Management;
- Minimum three years' experience in a hotel sales environment required;
- Must demonstrate a proven track record of experience across various market segments with particular focus on MICE, possess excellent verbal and written communication and Microsoft Office skills and have a high attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management, interpersonal and leadership skills.
