WASHINGTON, D.C. – The St. Regis Washington D.C. is proud to announce Elias Assaly as General Manager of the celebrated hotel. A respected leader in the luxury hospitality arena, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role at The St. Regis Washington D.C., and his appointment marks his return to the St. Regis family, having previously served as the opening General Manager of The St. Regis San Francisco.
Commenting on his new role, Elias Assaly states: “The St. Regis Washington D.C. has long served as the benchmark for luxury travel in the nation’s vibrant capital city with a reputation sustained by the finest service, innovative programming, and impeccable hospitality. I look forward to guiding the team as we write the next chapter of the hotel’s legacy, embarking on a mission to deliver exquisite guest experiences and fresh, exciting programming.” Assaly joins The St. Regis Washington D.C. from Northwood Hospitality where he served as the Area Vice President and General Manager overseeing Naples Grande Beach Resort, Cheeca Lodge & Spa, Tranquility Bay and Naples Grande Golf Club. Under his leadership, he managed the revival of Naples Grande Beach Resort, setting a new vision for the property following its hiatus during the pandemic.
Assaly held his first General Manager position in 1998 serving as the opening General Manager at the W San Francisco. Soon after, he joined the St. Regis brand for the first time in 2004, serving as the opening General Manager of The St. Regis San Francisco, where during his tenure, he led the team to achieve the coveted Mobil 5 Star Award in the first year of operations. Assaly has also held positions as the Vice President of Operations for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Dallas; Chief Operating Officer at Cortland Partners in Atlanta; Vice President of Operations, Managed Group, Americas for Radisson Hotel Group in Minneapolis; as well as positions at Grand Wilea Maui, El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico, The Ritz Carlton Buckhead and Grand Hyatt in Washington DC.
Assaly attended the American University of Beirut where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology & Chemistry. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he received a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. He translated his passion for the sciences into a passion for service, starting his first job in hospitality after graduating.
