Chef Tom will lead the implementation of the hotel’s new food and beverage philosophy
Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel is pleased to announce Chef Tom Luu, will be taking on the role of Executive Chef Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel starting May 9, 2022. In this role, Chef Tom will lead the implementation of the hotel’s new food and beverage philosophy, an extension of the hotel’s major transformation set to be completed this year.
With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the kitchen, Chef Tom is uniquely well-suited to take on this role at Marriott’s largest managed hotel asset in Canada. Chef Tom was employed with Fairmont Hotels - Banff Springs, Jasper Park Lodge and Royal York Hotel before taking on the challenge to open Friday Harbor Resort as their Executive Chef. He now joins us from our Franchise Marriott properties in Niagara Falls where he holds a dual property role while also teaching part-time Culinary as a Professor at Niagara College, NOTL.
With a broad skillset that includes cooking experience in high volume a la carte & banqueting operations, food and banquet design, culinary business management and a lifelong commitment to teaching and inspiring the next generation of fine chefs; Chef Tom has earned multiple leadership awards. He’s also shown a strong commitment to environmental sustainability with a focus on giving back to others.
A lifelong apprentice, Chef Tom has his Red Seal, Journeyman and Certified Working Chef
designation. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from University of New Brunswick
and hopes to continue his passion for learning & teaching by pursuing his MBA.
Chef Tom will be relocating back to Toronto from the Niagara Region.
