In Addition to Promotions for Two Key Team Members, Derek Wood Joins Sister Properties as Director of Sales

JW Marriott Tampa Water Street and Tampa Marriott Water Street are thrilled to announce several exciting team news – the sister properties have welcomed Derek Wood as their new Director of Sales, and have also appointed Erica Tortora as Director of Marketing and Brittany Erigo as Director of Catering. Together, this skilled collection of hospitality professionals will elevate property operations to the next level.

Derek Wood brings with him a treasure trove of experience in the hospitality world, having worked his sales magic with several Marriott-branded hotels over the past decade-and-a-half. Prior to joining the sister properties, Wood served as Associate Director of Sales at JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa where he managed the day-to-day activities of the resort’s group and catering sales team. As Director of Sales, Derek will oversee all sales operations, devising innovative strategies to maximize revenue generation.
In her previous role as Senior Marketing Manager at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street and Tampa Marriott Water Street, Erica Tortora proved to be instrumental in elevating the properties to new heights and showcasing the hotels’ role in the Water Street neighborhood. Erica has a decade of experience in luxury hospitality, having represented a number of hotel brands including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Park Hyatt. She joined Marriott International in 2021 as a Communications Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach.
Following her success as Senior Catering Sales Executive, Brittany Erigo will now spearhead both properties’ catering services and programs, from planning to execution. Her previous experience includes stints as Event Services Coordinator at Walt Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort, Convention Sales Coordinator at Visit Tampa Bay, Private Events Coordinator at The Tampa Club and Director of Convention & Corporate Sales at ZooTampa at Lowry Park.
