Job Overview:

The Staff Accountant will support Director of Finance/Assistant Director of Finance and Chief Accountant with all accounting processes at the hotel. Other responsibilities may include the following:

• Prepare and review all journal vouchers, month-end reports and reconciliations
• Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist with the presentation of these reports.
• Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Income Journals, and General Cashier tasks.
• Assist and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel.
• Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, inventories, and monthly closing responsibilities.
• Assist with managingand ensuring SOX compliance
• Assist Management with completing the year-end audit process. Participate inand respond to auditor requests to ensuretotal hotel compliance.
• Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement
• Assist with special reporting and analysis projects

Wage Information:

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 to $27.30. Decisions regarding individual wages will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications and education.

Qualifications
Experience:

• • Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Hospitality preferred.
• • 1-2 years hotel accounting experience, preferred.
• • Prior Oracle, Birchstreet, and Opera experience preferred.
• • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office (particularly intermediate or advanced user of Excel) and computer accounting software programs.
• • Ability to effectively communicate with departmental managers, colleagues, guest and the public.
• • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• • Must possess following strengths: high energy, motivated leader, effective communicator, excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills.
• • Extremely detailed and accurate.
• • Must have well time management and organizational skills.
