Responsibilities include:
- Support the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in basic management responsibilities
- Supports and helps execute all meal period services (breakfast, lunch, dinner) - this would include but is not limited to being at the pass, touching tables and engaging with guests
- Oversee the buffet, employee café, and ensure BEO's are executed correctly and efficiently
- Plan, coordinate & implement special events and holiday functions
- Manage hourly kitchen employees through training and coaching - this includes supervising preparation, evaluating flavors, and ensuring consistency of dishes
- Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction - this would include fostering teamwork and providing feedback
- Monitor product usage and communicate food order needs in a timely fashion
- Understand lead times and delivery frequencies from various vendors
- Must be adept at conflict resolution and possess superior customer service skills
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipmentQualifications. Will also maintain compliance with state, federal, and local food handling requirements and standards as well Hyatt Eco Sure compliance standards
- Completes the duties of a line cook when needed, and is capable of performing the duties of all kitchen positions.
- Ensures products are stored at the correct temperatures and the recipe books are up to date with current menu items, portions, and ingredients.
Qualifications - In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
- Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
- Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service
- Proficient in general computer knowledge
- A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
- Strong training and communication skills
- Culinary Degree and/or minimum of 3 years of on the job training, hotel experience preferred
- The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a high energy level and excellent communications skills
- This position requires a considerable amount of walking; and the ability to lift, push and carry moderate to heavy amounts of weight on a consistent basis
