What you will do as a Shift Security Officer

• Office administrations

• To complete all relevant duty logs & incidents while on duty

• Maintain constant vigilance throughout the entire property, particularly entrances and exits, 24/7.

• To respond and investigate all alarm conditions or emergency/incident situations and or urgent calls for assistance within the hotel etc.

• To be responsible for locker and staff ID card issue and administration.

• To carry out effective regular patrols of the premises while on duty.

• To assist in the maintenance of records and issue of staff ID photo-cards and access control system.

• Carry out periodic checks on staff bags etc.

• To operate CCTV systems while on duty in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

• To assist the hotel in H&S staff training during staff induction, statutory fire training and security awareness training etc.

• Any other reasonable request and assistance of others within the business.

• To record all physical items of lost property that is released to your safe keeping in the appropriate book. To investigate and record all lost property enquiries that you receive while on duty.

• To be assist with the property's adherence to statutory requirements and the company's health and safety policy and to support the property's relationship with any external health and safety agencies.

• In conjunction with other colleagues to manage the Health and Safety requirements within the business.

• To undertake duties as part of the company's crisis investigation team.

• To be a qualified First Aider in the workplace and to assist the property with the provision of first aid

• To be assist in implementation of our requirement to our property's adherence to the company's fire certificate and to support property's relationships with the fire and associated authorities.

• To assist when required for delivering fire train to new starters during induction and 3/6 monthly refresher courses to all employees.

• To assist in the inspection of portable fire-fighting equipment and other associated fire safety systems and equipment.

• To ensure that reports for all incidents are correctly prepared, reported to the appropriate external agencies and filed (e.g. thefts of items from guest bedrooms, public areas etc, other security incidents).

• Advise the management team as when appropriate, on security issues.

• Ensure the Assistant Security Manager or their superior are fully appraised of any security incidents and of any subsequent investigations.
