The Role
Reporting to Global Head, Brand Marketing + Culture, the Senior Copy + Brand Manager is a leader in editorial judgement: creating and overseeing the brand copy, delivering brand narratives and generating creative ideas for content, partnerships and the overall marketing of The Lifestyle Group's brands.
The role primarily writes and reviews brand copy including internal brand narratives, marketing campaigns, guest experience collateral, websites and other public-facing channels. This person is involved in outlet and new property concepting (positioning and verbal identity), naming, narrative development and portfolio-wide storytelling for The Lifestyle Group, Hyatt and its brands that include Andaz, Thompson, The Standard, The StandardX, The Manner, Dream and me and all hotels.
This role consults and collaborates with the Art team to generate ideas, maintain brand integrity and refine visual concepts and projects. This person brings editorial judgment (and a sense of the larger brand's trajectory) to bear on storytelling across mediums: visuals, marketing, retail, etc. This requires taking a wider view (at the direction of the Global Head) of The Lifestyle Group's next evolution and ensuring it's realized in day-to-day creative efforts.
This role may collaborate with PR in drafting and refining press materials; with Design in articulating visual ideas for hotels and outlets; with Finance in refining board & investor updates; with members of the executive + administrative teams in developing external thought leadership and internal communications.
Responsibilities will include:
- Write and edit select copy for brand marketing projects, communications, events, specials, website content and promotions using brand tone and ensuring that tone is consistent across all platforms worldwide.
- Ensure existing brand tone and guidelines are followed and properly translates to all visuals, graphics and photography.
- Work closely with President and Creative Director and Global Head of Brand Marketing to help redefine and guide brand tone of voice for select brands within The Lifestyle Group that need refreshing and realignment.
- Manage the research and creation of new venue names, special menu items, series, activations, etc.
- Research and fact check all written communications and print.
- Be a support for the PR team to draft all brand press releases, media alerts, interview requests and fact sheets.
- Work with Brand Development + Design teams on writing all new development narratives, including new hotels, residences and programs.
- Research, develop and write certain copy for new hotel openings including property and venue descriptions, room descriptions/names, and manage the execution and use of copy across all brand platforms, OTAs, and any other channels that highlight the brand/property.
- Co-leader in Corporate team to collaborate and generate ideas for content and culture spaces and maintain brand integrity.
- Refines visual concepts for each project hand in hand with the art team.
- Drives brand messaging and works with image selection for brand Instagram.
- Leader in editorial judgment - bringing a sense of larger brand trajectory across all projects and a key resource to ensure ideas align with brand standards.
- Oversees The Standard's Culture pages and broader editorial remit.
Qualifications QualificationsExperience Required- 3+ years of experience in content marketing/editorial/copywriting, digital marketing and/or social media.
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in English, Marketing, Branding or Communications.
- Strong analytical skills in research and analysis of business-related content. Able to calculate ROI of the content.
- Managerial and organizational skills: work well under pressure and deadlines, attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in written and verbal form.
- Creative and open-minded to interesting ideas for initiating new content.
- Proficient in MS Word, Power Pointand certain software which will enhance content creation.
