The Overnight Security Officer is responsible for the oversight of the safety and security of the hotel guests and colleagues. This person will follow safety and security standards and complete incident reports as required. This position is also responsible for assisting guests in guest service related functions.

Core Functions

1. Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our colleagues and guests.

2. Oversee the Safety and Security of colleagues, guests, and property. Keep guest service and guest experience at center of all interactions.

3. Answer all security and safety related calls. Respond to disturbances and emergency situations.

4. Prepare incident reports and any other statements or reports and communicate all related information to Safety and Security Manager and hotel management. Prepare incident reports and other reports and communicate all related information to hotel management.

5. Handle and oversee guest interactions related to wellness checks, noise complaints, and smoking complaints.

6. Perform up to six (6) patrols per shift or as directed by the Safety and Security Manager. Perform weekly rooftop patrol.

7. Locking and unlocking specified doors depending on operation hours. Access secured areas for authorized personnel.

8. Process all Lost and Found.

9. Monitor security cameras. Assist director level requests for footage. Escalate to Safety and Security Manager for authorization for all other requests. Emergency Response to Codes 1-5. Lockouts and Key reader interrogations as requested.

10. Maintain vigilance and handle first contact or emergency response with potential security risks (transients, intoxicated people, aggressive people, etc.).

11. Assist guest services team with various guest requests, such as making keys, wheelchair requests, guiding guests, etc.)

12. Assist with biohazard pick-up when necessary.

13. Assist in colleague injury reporting (first aid, PC365 and SOVA report).

14. Provide assistance to other colleagues and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel, and communicate effectively with guests and fellow colleagues.

15. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.

16. Other duties as assigned.

The hourly rate for the Security Officer position is $20, with an extra $1 paid during Overnight shifts.

Qualifications
Qualifications

• 1-2 years work experience.

• Prior security experience preferred.

• CPR/First Aid and Guard Card certified.

• Highly organized and efficient, pro-active and results driven, and ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility. Leads by example and with integrity.

• Excellent communicator and team motivator. Business-like, socially engaged, passionate, expressive demonstrating a positive attitude.

Mental and Physical Demands

• Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking throughout property, working on a computer, typing, filing, climbing stairs, and interacting with guests (speaking, listening, writing).

• Occasional: Lifting, pushing, and pulling guest luggage and property equipment. Occasional stooping and bending.
