The Security Dispatcher is responsible for maintaining dispatch logs, keep accurate record of guest requests, accidents, incidents, and response time and safety concerns. Dispatcher will also direct officers to locations needing assistance and field all emergency calls for the resort.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately maintain the Daily Activity Report
- Coordinate all emergency dispatching, one-site and through municipal services
- Monitor the Fire Alarm System
- Monitor incoming calls
- Conduct routine patrol checks around properties.
- Control and document the issuance of keys and radios
- Control entry and exit of the resort service entrance
- Monitors the CCTV cameras
- Security cameras play a critical role in detecting risk or events that can lead to property loss or injury. A consistent and intentional effort must be made to monitor cameras. Report any broken or maintenance required cameras to Security leadership
- Logging in and out Visitors of the property
- Logging in and out guest/associate packages
- Proper execution of the lost and found program.
- Pass-on all information to oncoming Dispatch Officer.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
Qualifications - Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential. Dispatchers need to effectively communicate with security personnel, emergency services, and other relevant parties. Clear and concise verbal and written communication is crucial.
- Listening Skills: Dispatchers must be able to listen attentively to incoming calls, gather relevant information, and accurately relay that information to security officers or emergency responders.
- Multi-tasking Abilities: Security dispatchers often need to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. They may be receiving and dispatching calls, monitoring security systems, and coordinating responses to various incidents.
- Problem-solving Skills: The ability to think quickly and make decisions under pressure is crucial. Security dispatchers may encounter various situations that require rapid problem-solving skills.
- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with computer systems to include Microsoft Office and dispatch software is often required. Security dispatchers may need to use security monitoring software, and other tools.
- Knowledge of Security Procedures: Understanding basic security procedures and protocols is important. This includes knowledge of emergency response procedures, incident reporting, and security equipment.
- Customer Service Skills: Good customer service skills are important, especially when dealing with distressed individuals or providing information to the public.
- Calm under Pressure: Security dispatchers must remain calm and composed during high-stress situations. The ability to handle emergency situations with poise is crucial.
- Flexibility: Security dispatchers may need to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is often a requirement.
