Description
The Regional Vice President, Brand & Communications, Greater China will report to Vice President of Commercial Services - Greater China, with a dotted reporting to Vice President of Marketing, Asia Pacific, who is based in the Hong Kong out of the Hong Kong hub.
The role will lead the strategic development and execution of brands & marketing strategies, media & owners communications for Hyatt across the Greater China sub-region (Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau). This role ensures alignment with Global and ASPAC brand standards and commercial strategy while driving sub-regional business growth via enhancing brand awareness, preference and ultimately market shares.
Key Scope of Work:
• Brand Strategy & Hotel Positioning: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive hotel brand positioning strategies that resonate with the local market while maintaining alignment with global brand guidelines and objectives.
• Strategic Communications: Oversee all internal and external communications, including public relations, media relations, owners' communication, and crisis management, ensuring consistent messaging that reflects Hyatt's brand values across Greater China. Guide spokesperson(s) for the company in Greater China, such as issues/ crisis, brand positioning, and major announcements.
• Marketing Campaigns: Drive the creation and implementation of 360 marketing campaigns that support both brand-building and digital marketing objectives, tailored to the unique dynamics of the Greater China markets.
• Development Marketing: Support growth by using marketing communications and campaigns to showcase Hyatt's value to current and potential owners.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with ASPAC and GC leaderships, sales, operations, development, F&B, finance, and Global teams to drive and deliver strategic initiatives for Greater China
• Content Strategy: Ongoing partnership with Digital & Loyalty team in developing and executing content strategy, driving brand love, preference, and engagement across key digital/social platforms, leading to loyalty members acquisition/activation and book on digital direct channels.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Build and manage relationships with key external partners, including media, agencies, influencers, and other stakeholders to elevate the brand's presence and reputation.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of brand and communications professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities:
• RVP Brand and Communications will have responsibility for driving and implementing the strategic Brand (60%) and Communications (40%) priorities, and budgetary control for Greater China.
• Lead, strategize, and develop the communications and brand marketing plans for the sub-region in alignment with the Global, ASPAC and GC goals
• Collaborate with ASPAC / GC leadership team such as Finance, Development, Operations, Human Resources, Design Services, F&B and Sales etc to develop marketing and communications strategy and plans which drive brand awareness, revenue, loyalty and preference to Hyatt for colleagues, owners, guests, customers and community
• Ongoing partnership with GC Digital & Loyalty to design and drive cohesive earned, paid and owned 360 marketing efforts in the Greater China sub-region to create strong brand awareness and affinity for the parent brand and hotel brands, leading to increase in market shares, loyalty members acquisition & activation, and bookings prioritizing Direct channel
• Lead and develop marketing and communications plan and budget for key new openings brand builder hotels, re-flags, and coordinate hotel de-flags
• Working closely with ASPAC Central team to execute regional and global campaigns
• Act as conduit between GC hotels in the region and regional and global teams
• Immerse, inspire and guardrail the Greater China team and hotels with Hyatt brands and brand experiences through trainings and best practice sharing
Qualifications
Experience
• A minimum of ten (15) years relevant professional experience in loyalty and partnerships management role
• A dynamic leader with a proven track record of evaluating, identifying and executing against strategic opportunities
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and collaboration skills
• Strong quantitative and analytical background with attention to detail
• Proven ability to lead within a matrixed organization
• Superior written and oral presentation skills
• Preferred: Previous loyalty and co-brand card experience a plus
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
