The Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator will perform a variety of professional responsibilities in support of Miraval's centralized Human Resources function, including but not limited to processing payroll for resort colleagues, coordination of new hire process and onboarding, HR administrative work and legal compliance. The coordinator will also assist in the completion of HR metrics and reporting and planning of events. This position is a full-time hourly opportunity.
Essential Functions:
- Functions as an expert in the Payroll system (Dimensions) to include data entry, knowledge of all functions, creating and generating reports, and processing payroll accurately and on-time.
- Stay up to date on payroll regulations and laws
- Review payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and laws.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate data exchange.
- First point of contact for any questions regarding the payroll system, troubleshoots any problems, provides systems training to new managers and provides basic tech support to colleagues.
- Coordinates and performs the new hire process from the point of sending new hire paperwork, following up to ensure that all requirements are met, conducting new hire onboarding, scheduling new hire orientation, etc.
- Maintains up-to-date employment files in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Maintains tracking and input for the Tuition/Wellness Reimbursement plan for colleagues.
- Ensures department/property compliance trainings are completed in a timely manner.
- Acts as the lead in planning social gatherings, seasonal events, employee recognition meetings, etc.
- Maintains all Recognition/Anniversary/Birthday records and disbursements, along with the appropriate award and/or pin.
- Performs Reference checks
- Provides excellent service and care to the colleagues, applicants and outside vendors and visitors.
- Works with HR team to develop creative approaches to the recruitment process to increase high-caliber candidate sourcing including referral generation, internet sourcing, ad placement, job fairs, community outreach, direct sourcing/cold calling, and networking.
- Assists in review of selection, testing and other related employment systems as needed for continuous updating, improvement and legal compliance.
- Performs other payroll/administrative tasks which are HR-related duties as assigned, as necessary.

Qualifications - At least two years previous experience processing payroll for a large organization required.
- Proven technical prowess with ADP and Kronos (AKA Dimensions) and strong Microsoft Office skills a must.
- Ability to project a positive and professional demeanor and approach, reflective of Miraval's values.
- Must be able to work independently and manage daily responsibilities and deadlines.
- Able to communicate clearly in English verbally, electronically and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills, with emphasis on attention to detail and continuous follow-up
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate a variety of tasks and assignments
- Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, communicate with all levels of staff and management and to effectively convey ideas in both verbal and written format.
- Knowledgeable re: applicable state and federal employment and/or labor laws and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of employee relations principles and practices in non-union environment.
- Ability to elicit buy-in and cooperation of others.
- Ability for appropriate decision-making and problem-solving, utilizing factual information, company policies, and personal judgment through experience.
- Ability to multi-task, manage interruptions, handle stress and effectively matriculate in a fast-paced, frequently-changing environment.
