Position Summary:
The Overnight Security Guard position must be observant, proactive, and able to make decisions independently. This position requires flexible response, from friendly notices to stern warnings accompanied with consequences. The Overnight Security Guard acts as motel ambassadors to ensure all guests enjoy their stay.
The person in this position must have excellent communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict, and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. The Overnight Security Guard position must develop and maintain the company's culture, values and reputation in the public eye and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• 1-2 years' experience in hospitality or security preferred
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
• High level customer service
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak, read, and write in the primary language(s) of the workplace

Job Responsibilities:
• Make rounds every fifteen minutes, patrolling motel and accompanying property
• Check doors of vacant rooms, housekeeping, and maintenance to confirm they're locked
• Address guest needs such as additional towels or bedding, TV or internet issues, etc.
• Proactively engage disruptive guests, with a focus on de-escalation
• Explain and enforce motel policies in rooms, pool area, and common areas
• Communicate with front desk to maintain full picture of activity around property
• Perform general upkeep duties such as trash pickup, washing pool towels, etc.
• Monitor community for suspicious activity and graffiti near store fronts and apartment property
• Write nightly report communicating any problems or issues and their solutions to the day staff
• Ensure open lines of communication with staff, all departments and upper management at all times via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
• Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and in order to exceed expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
Working Conditions:
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• The person in this position may have to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
• The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day
