Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting a Lead Painter to join the hotel's opening team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. Opening in late 2024, the property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Position Summary
A Lead Painter will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic of the hotel by executing a variety of painting projects, ensuring all areas are well-maintained and visually appealing. This includes both interior and exterior spaces, and may require supervision of a team of painters to ensure consistent quality and safety standards.
Position Responsibilities/ Essential Functions
• Supervise and perform all painting duties, ensuring high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety are maintained.
• Manage the preparation of surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, priming, and coating.
• Supervise a team of painters, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring all work is completed according to Hyatt's standards and timelines.
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and other departments to coordinate the painting schedule and minimize disruptions to guest services.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of paint supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective usage and regular restocking.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling hazardous materials appropriately.
• Conduct routine inspections of painted surfaces to identify areas that need attention, performing touch-ups or complete repaints as needed.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of various painting techniques, color schemes, and textures to ensure the hotel's visual standards are upheld.
• Provide training to other team members on proper painting techniques, tools, and safety measures.
• Ensure all painting projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Report any facility-related issues to the Director of Engineering and assist with preventative maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A certification or apprenticeship in painting or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional painting or maintenance role, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory position.
