The Role
As an Infrastructure IT Project Manager, you will lead critical IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with our company's standards. You will be the primary lead in reviewing IT designs for new constructions, renovations, and expansions, ensuring the seamless integration of technology infrastructure.
One of the main responsibilities of the Infrastructure IT Project Manager is to review the IT Design of a construction which has been published by third party IT Consultants - either new build, renovations, or expansion to ensure that all IT infrastructure elements are in place. These elements relate to appropriate spacing and conditioning of the technology rooms as well as all low voltage cabling requirements for the overall construction.
This individual will work with the Owner, Owner Representatives, or Asset Managers and all consultants, contractors and subcontractors that participate in the New Build, Renovation or Expansion process that includes the IT, Electrical and Audio Visual Consultants as well as teams involved in the deployment of the Low Voltage Cabling, along with multiple internal Hyatt collaborators and piers such as Design Services, Networking, Access Control, Security and others.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Maintain a direct working relationship with the designated IT Project Manager and Telecom Project manager assigned to the project.
• Maintain a direct working relationship with all Design Service team members as it relates to hotel project designs.
• Review, Approve, and Maintain a list of Hyatt approved Low Voltage Consultants
• Maintain and update IT Low Voltage Infrastructure Standards as needed.
• Participate in Initial project kick off meetings issued by the Design Services team as well as the Hotel Openings and Transitions IT Team.
• Maintain a direct working relationship with the IT Consultant and the Low Voltage team assigned to the project, documenting and logging all key items that have been identified and all requested changes.
• Review Blueprint Drawings through all phases of the new build or rebranding project, with strong focus on critical systems:
o MDF and IDF Space Dimensions to ensure appropriate spacing.
o Emergency Generator Power for the building and IT Facilities.
o MDF and IDF Electrical Power and Distribution.
o MDF and IDF Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) requirements.
o MDF and IDF HVAC System requirements.
o MDF and IDF Fire Suppression requirements.
o MDF and IDF Cabinet/Rack Requirements and Distribution.
o Riser Cable Designs
• Identifying potential risks and issues in IT Infrastructure Design and recommend to Ownership and IT Consultants mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Request that IT Consulting and Low Voltage Contractors ensure all IT Infrastructure is tested, validated and complies with industry and brand standards.
• Request and Review from the IT Consultant the Port Matrix Documentation.
• Request and Review from the approved certified HSIA provider all Wireless Access Point (WAP) placement and Heat Map Diagrams. Provide this feedback to the IT Consultant and Low Voltage Cabling Provider.
• Ensure ownership engages with a Hyatt approved CCTV consultant for the design and deployment of an approved CCTV Security System design to ensure an appropriate CCTV Camera placement.
• Ensure the IT Consultant has addressed electrical requirements for MDF and IDF for items such as:
o Dual Independent Power circuits per cabinet
o UPS protection
o Generator Power Protection
• Maintain an active Opens issue log to ensure all items identified in the life of the project are fully documented. Opening and Closing all IT design/Infrastructure issues as identified for each new build project or renovation project.
• Work Closely and Directly with the Owner, Owner's Representative or Asset Manager, and all consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors that participate in the new build, renovation or expansion project which include the IT, Electrical and Audio Visual Consultants as well as teams involved in the deployment of the Low Voltage Cabling, along with multiple internal Hyatt collaborators and piers such as Design Services, Networking, Access Control, Security and other teams.
• Participate in on project site visits as needed to review (with all critical parties involved), all infrastructure, layout and space planning as well as voice and data drops for all requirements of the technology implementation.
• Ensure that special requirements are identified and documents as it relates to spaces or areas of the property that are operated by 'third party' companies.
• Ensure that special requirements are identified and documented as it relates to spaces outside the hotel operations, such as Condominiums, Residences or Villas to deploy required technology if applicable.
• Provide Infrastructure design updates to the IT Project manager assigned to each project.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
•3-5 years of Hotel IT experience or IT Network Infrastructure Design or other equivalent business/ function role outside of the Hospitality Industry
Experience Preferred:
•Associate degree or greater in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
•Specific Experience in working with blueprint reviews for Low Voltage, MATV, and CCTV systems.
•Training or certification as a Project Management Professional
•Experience with hospitality systems
•Fluent in Spanish is a plus
