Description
The HR Manager for the hotel is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources functions within the hotel, ensuring the recruitment, development, and well-being of employees. This role involves managing HR processes such as recruitment, training, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Manager will work closely with hotel management to maintain a positive and productive work environment and support the hotel's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Staffing:
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including posting job openings, interviewing candidates, and hiring for various hotel positions.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and ensure timely and effective recruitment.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates and build relationships with local schools, employment agencies, and job boards to attract top talent.
Employee Onboarding & Training:
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and adherence to company policies.
- Organize and deliver training programs for staff to enhance performance, compliance, and professional development.
- Ensure all new employees receive proper orientation and are introduced to hotel operations, safety procedures, and workplace expectations.
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution:
- Act as a point of contact for employees to address concerns, resolve workplace issues, and mediate conflicts.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by promoting open communication, respect, and teamwork among staff.
- Handle employee disciplinary matters, ensuring adherence to hotel policies and legal requirements.
Performance Management:
- Implement and oversee performance management systems, including annual reviews, goal-setting, and feedback sessions.
- Provide guidance to department heads on handling employee performance issues and coaching staff for improvement.
- Assist in identifying high-potential employees for career development and advancement within the hotel.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Oversee the administration of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage and hour laws.
- Regularly review compensation practices to ensure competitive and equitable pay structures.
Compliance & Legal:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws, as well as hotel policies regarding employment practices.
- Stay current on changes in employment law and industry regulations to maintain hotel compliance.
- Oversee the proper documentation of employee records, including contracts, benefits, and performance evaluations.
Health, Safety & Well-being:
- Promote employee health and safety by ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards and regulations.
- Implement wellness programs and initiatives to enhance the overall well-being of employees.
- Ensure that employees are aware of safety protocols and encourage a culture of safety within the hotel.
HR Administration & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and performance data.
- Prepare and submit HR-related reports for management, including turnover rates, employee satisfaction surveys, and training completion rates.
- Oversee HR software systems, ensuring proper use and accuracy of data.
Employee Engagement & Retention:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Organize employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and events to boost morale.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and improve retention strategies.
Qualifications - Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar HR role, ideally in the luxury hotel industry.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
- Experience with recruitment, performance management, training, and employee development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Advanced English level
