Job Summary
As Housekeeping Inspector you are responsible for assisting in overseeing the success of all functions in the Housekeeping department, including; ensuring the cleanliness and turning of guest rooms, guest services, and cleanup of all house areas including lobbies, public areas, bathrooms and guest floors.
A Housekeeping Inspector's responsibilities also include:
• Inspects guestrooms & public areas to ensure they meet standards of cleanliness & working order; including VIPs
• Follow through on guest complaints and requests regarding room services and ensure the appropriate follow-up with guests.
• Assist in training new Team Members & developing existing Team Members.
• Manage safety & security procedures; ensuring OSHA compliance.
• Effective business communication skills.
• Positive guest and associate relations skills.
• Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
Responsibilities Continued in Detail
• Accountable for guest satisfaction by motivating the housekeeping team; assigning, inspecting, recording housekeeping actions in all areas of the hotel. Timely response to guest concerns or requests in courteous and friendly manner, focuses on service recovery when applicable. Works side by side with staff to train and model appropriate guest service standards. Achieves goals by developing and implementing service programs within the housekeeping department designed to increase guest satisfaction.
• Responsible for directing staff performance; take appropriate corrective action as needed to hold team members accountable. Assist with coaching, and development of all team members. Assist with required training for department team members and ensuring training records are maintained. Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs and ensures implementation to improve results. Utilizes available resources and adheres to Hyatt training policies. Promotes collaboration and positive, professional work environment.
• Enter status of rooms cleaned. Complete checklists to report cleanliness and condition of each assigned area. Complete required Housekeeping paperwork. Identify room assignments and type of cleaning required for each room. Inspect guest rooms after being cleaned by Housekeeper. Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
• Assist management training, evaluating, motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
• Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance. Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Visually verify and interpret written documents. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors/Managers.
• Inspect 20 -25 rooms on a daily basis, following Hyatt Standards.
• Inspect public areas as instructed by Managers/ Supervisors.
• Run due-out reports when needed.
