What does the ROLE entail?
• Manage and lead hotel on-site accounting / purchasing functions and the off-site Shared Services accounting team to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes month-end closing, hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting and cash management.
• Assist in nurturing the important relationship with the owners. Be responsible for supervising and coordinating owner reporting as required. Provide custom reports, respond quickly to questions or requests.
• Monitor requirements set out in the Lease Agreement of the hotel
• Monitor all costs and recommend measures to control them. To establish an integrated cost management plan through product lining, correct inventories levels and ensuring compliance with procurement programs.
• Maximizes employee productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
• Analyze financial reports and give recommendation to departments head based on them
• Ensure the hotel is compliant with local laws
• In charge of compliance with Hyatt global policies and procedures and lead of internal audits.
• Provide internal and external auditors with required documents
• Complete the year-end external audit process. Review all reconciliations and audit work papers. Coordinate external auditor's visits, and respond to auditor requests.
• Maximizes the effectiveness of Accounting and Purchasing employees by developing each of their skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
• Conducts annual Performance Development Discussions and supports employees in their professional development goals.
• Prepare quarterly VAT filings and yearly city tax filings.
• The Finance Manager of Hyatt Regency Amsterdam reports to the Area Director of Finance.

Your EXPERIENCE:
• You have at least one year of work experience in a similar position in a larger hotel operation, or you have multiple years of experience, have previously managed a small team, and are ready for the next step;
• You have been involved in budgeting and forecasting;
• You have the skills and abilities to develop a team;
• You have excellent excel skills;
• You have strong language and communication skills in English (and preferably in Dutch as well);
• You preferably have experience with Opera, Micros, iScala, Oracle Hyperion / Smartview, BirchStreet and Glory cash recycler;
• You are eligible to work in the Netherlands, having EU nationality /valid working permit already.
