The Event Sales & Planning Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include selling events, meeting space, guest rooms, detailing events and servicing events, and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicitation to generate business in the near term. The Event Sales & Planning Manager also works as a team member with the sales, events, banquet and culinary staff to in close contact with the Event Experience Coordinator and other support staff.
The Event Sales & Planning Manager will develop and execute sales action plans to close on targeted social segments or business within a short term booking window and fill in open need periods. There will be a focus on soliciting business in Social markets using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc. It is imperative that the Event Sales & Planning Manager utilizes strategic decision making aligned with the hotel's sales guidelines and book profitable business. They will be responsible for identifying, qualifying the market for food and beverage, meeting room rental and room night demand generators and developing effective closure strategies with the Director of Sales and Marketing consistent with the hotel's sales and marketing plans. They will update leadership on market fluctuations and competitive changes in product ownership or strategies and respond with recommendations for shifts in sales action plans. They will maintain positive relations and high visibility in relative business organizations such as WIPA SF Bay Area, CVB, Burlingame Chamber of Commerce, local hotel associations and hospitality industry events to connect with planners. The salary range for this position is $66,100 to $80,900. This is the pay range for this position that Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Qualifications

• Refined verbal and written communication skills
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
• Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
