What does the role entail?

The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is planning and servicing event and group sales bookings. This position acts as a liaison between meeting planners/wedding coordinators and the hotel staff and is responsible for entertaining and sustaining relationships with new and existing accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. This manager is also responsible for timely and clear communications to all departments for upcoming events, timely billing and guest satisfaction. The position will handle meeting connections business as well as large market.

Responsibilities include: administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food and Beverage, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review. Event Planning Managers are the on-site contacts and are responsible for the smooth execution of all events.

Event Planning Managers also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and lead event meetings, and work as a team member with all departments in the hotel.

Qualifications:

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment

• Refined verbal and written communication skills

• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge

• Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized

• Prefer two years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program

• Prefer candidate has completed PSS

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including Weekends & Holidays

• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight

• Must have ability to stand for periods of time and walk long distances
