Description
The Director of Corporate and Brand Communications, Asia Pacific, is responsible for the Global Communications strategy including corporate and brand communications in Asia Pacific region, with the overall goal to drive brand preference and protect brand reputation for Hyatt.
Key Scope of Work:
• Strategic Communications Alignment: Working closely with global and sub-regional communicaitons teams to ensure consistent messaging and that reflects Hyatt's company and brand values across Asia Pacific.
• Corporate Communications: Spearheading all corporate, owner and colleague communication efforts in the region, including crisis management handling and training, spokeperson guidance, executive visibility and new ways of engaging with colleagues and owners.
• Brand Communications: Serving as an advocate for Hyatt's established and emerging brands including World of Hyatt brand in Asia Pacific through effective story-tellings including public relations, media events, award strategy and influencer engagement.
• Resources management: Identify, select and manage corporate and brand agencies, copywriters, and other vendors in developing regional communiaiton strategies and contents. Build and manage the database for media and influencer. Manage the budget for Communications central functions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Ensuring close collaboration with leaders of key functions across the enterprise, including Development, Operations, Human Resources, Design Services, Finance, F&B and other Commercial functions.
• Leadership & Development: Adapting a growth mindset and fostering a culture of creativity and continuous learning.
Responsibilities:
• In conjunction with key stakeholders in the business, develop strategic communication strategies and manage budget in support of Hyatt's overall goals and objectives and work with the sub-regional teams to implement the plan in a way that delivers measurable results.
• Lead the issue and crisis communications in Asia Pacific to ensure Hyatt's reputation is well protected especially with geopolitical and culture nuances. Working with sub-regional team in handling hotel issue management and communication supports.
• Partner with Human Resources to build Hyatt's EVP brand and attract and retain talent through strategic communications
• Strategize and localize the Strategic Priorities of the organization, such as Advancing Care, Inclusion and Diversity, and Wellness in the Region
• Partner with the Asia Pacific's leadership team such as Development, Operations, Human Resources, Design Services, and Sales etc to develop communications strategy and plan which drive brand awareness, revenue, and preference to Hyatt for internal colleagues, owners, guests, customers and community
• Partner with Development, Operations and ASPAC leadership team in deliver Hyatt value proposition communication
• Spokesperson training and executive visibility and thought leadership opportunities outreach
• Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt's values and leadership expectation
Qualifications
Experience
• Minimum 10 years' communications experiences including managerial/supervisory roles, either on in-house or agency side.
• Public company experience is highly desired as well as experience to work in a multi-brand multi-national organization across all continents.
• Experience in establishing credibility and presenting ideas persuasively to strong individuals in leadership positions.
• Crisis communication / reputation management / brand communication expert with unquestionable integrity.
• Proven ability to write and edit a wide range of materials, including press releases, issue statements, key messages, speeches and other documents.
• Strategic and creative thinker. Agile, stimulated by challenges, open-minded.
• Strong people leader - cultivate and monitave team members, coach and guide the direct reports; and a Team Player - encourage and embrace collaboration.
