The Deep Cleaning and Special Projects Housekeeper is responsible for performing intensive cleaning tasks and assisting with special housekeeping projects throughout the hotel. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of hotel rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, meeting the high standards of the hotel brand. The successful candidate will work on projects such as deep cleaning carpets, upholstery, high-touch surfaces, and preparing rooms and facilities for special events or peak seasons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform deep cleaning tasks such as washing walls, scrubbing floors, cleaning air vents, and polishing furniture.
• Clean and disinfect high-traffic areas, including lobbies, restrooms, elevators, and hallways.
• Conduct seasonal or periodic cleaning of guest rooms, suites, and public spaces, as directed by the Housekeeping Manager.
• Assist with special projects, such as preparing rooms for large events, redecorating, and cleaning common areas after renovations or upgrades.
• Handle and maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies in accordance with hotel standards and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including following appropriate sanitization protocols.
• Provide assistance with inventory management, ensuring cleaning products and equipment are stocked and maintained.
• Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate departments.
• Ensure all guest rooms are cleaned thoroughly, including tasks not covered in regular cleaning (e.g., baseboards, windows, behind furniture).
• Assist with staff training on deep cleaning and special project tasks when necessary.
• Work independently as well as collaborate with other housekeeping staff to complete tasks on time.

This is a Local 2 position- the hourly rate is $30.82 per hour.

Qualifications

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Refined verbal communication skills.
• Must have physical stamina to lift, pull, and push moderate amounts of weight.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule AM or PM shifts, holidays, and weekends.
• Previous experience in Housekeeping in a Hospitality setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Knowledge of floor cleaning machines: extractor, Hi-Lo Speed Bonnet & Buffing Machine, Spot Extractor, Wide Area Vacuum is preferred.
