Description
Main Duties and responsibilities:
Customer Service
• Assist in ensuring that department Colleagues deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional Guest service at all times.
• Ensure that Colleagues also provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
• Handle all Guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
• Maintain positive Guest and Colleague interactions with good working relationships.
Financial
• Maximize Colleague productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the Guests.
• Focus attention on improving productivity levels and the need to prudently manage utility/payroll costs within acceptable guidelines, ensuring optimum deployment and energy efficiency of all equipment.
• Ensure new technology and equipment are embraced, improving productivity while taking work out of the system. • Provide input into the preparation and management of the department's budget.
Operational
• Manage the department according to the established concept statement providing a safe, secured, courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following the park's standards.
• Have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks assigned.
• Assign responsibilities to subordinates implementing multi-tasking principle and to check their performance periodically.
• Implement flexible scheduling based on business patterns.
• Conduct daily pre-shift briefings to Colleagues on overall update including any functions / event and special attention that is needed.
• Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all service and products.
• Establish a smooth working relationship with local authorities and identify and liaise with them all required regulations and activities.
• Handle investigation and report all claims regarding thefts, accidents, injury, property damage, vandalism and trespassing from Guests or Colleague with the assistance of local authority if necessary.
• Handle all tasks with diplomacy, tact, appropriate discretion and efficiency.
• Monitor and control the movement of all Colleagues leaving or entering the park through the Colleague entrance.
• Implement with the Director of Human Resources, Colleague baggage checks and periodical locker searches as required.
• Establish with the Director of Engineering and Training Manager a helpful and effective in-house training course on Fire Prevention and Occupational Health and safety; to ensure its implementation and periodical updating.
• Co-ordinate and organize with Director of Engineering the training of an effective In-House Fire Brigade, with periodical refresher courses and exercises for both In-House Fire Brigade and departmental trainers and conduct monthly fire drills.
• Ensure that all new Colleagues are briefed and / or trained in Fire Prevention / Fire Fighting Procedures relevant to their position.
• Record and strictly control the issuing of all master keys and other keys within the park according to the established key policies and procedures and report any discrepancy immediately to the senior management.
• Co-ordinate ongoing "Non Patterned" patrols of public areas, outlets, offices and all other areas within - and around the park as specified in the Security Operations Manual.
• Review all reports prepared by Security Officers to ensure complete information, relevance, accuracy and follow-up points.
• Maintain a systematic distribution policy for all routine patrol and reports to accommodate prompt management review.
• Provide guard escorts to cashiers upon shift-ends whenever required.
• Review scheduled functions, group or VIP arrival events and discuss special instructions with all relevant departments.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments in conjunction with Heads of Departments to identify potential risk issues and liability factors, proposing corrective measures where necessary.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the department.
• Be fully conversant with every detail of the park layout and the location and functions of: o Sprinkler system and smoke detectors. o Firefighting equipment and emergency exits. o Fire control room and fire indicator panels. o Emergency evacuation / public address systems. o Emergency assembly area outside the park. o Fire / bomb threat and security procedures. o Elevator intercom operations system. o Emergency phone numbers. o Radio call signs and radio communication procedures. o CCTV operations and system abilities. o Morse watchman key operations. o Electronic occurrence book management system. o Lost & Found management process. o Key control & distribution process. o Lifts - emergency phone numbers. o First Aid equipment. Personnel
• Conduct annual Performance Development Discussions with Security Colleagues, support them in their professional development goals.
• Prepare and post weekly work schedules, making sure that they reflect business needs and other key performance indicators.
• Encourage Colleagues to be creative and innovative, challenging and recognizing them for their contribution to the success of the operation.
• Feedback the results of the Colleague Engage Survey and ensure that the relevant changes are implemented.
• Closely supervise the department Colleagues in the performance of their duties, ensuring this is in accordance with policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Oversee the punctuality and appearance of all Colleagues, making sure they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the park and department's grooming standards.
• Develop the skills and effectiveness of all Colleagues through appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
• Assist in the training of Colleagues, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with maximum efficiency.
• Supervise the Colleagues within the department, ensuring the correct standards and methods of service are maintained as stated in the Departmental Operations Manual.
• Support the implementation of The People Brand, demonstrating and reinforcing the park's Values and Culture Characteristics.
• Ensure Colleagues have a complete understanding of and adhere to Colleague rules and regulations.
• Ensure Colleagues follow all park, company, and local rules, policies, and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, and security.
Other Duties
• Maintain the Daily Logbook in the system.
• Submit all Guest / Colleague incident reports.
• Report "Lost & Found" items.
• Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Colleagues Handbook and the park's policy on fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
• Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and nametag at all times.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with Colleague in all other departments.
• Attend and contribute to all Colleague meetings, Departmental, Park, and Hotel training schedules, and other related activities.
• Fully support the Departmental Trainers function in the Department assigned.
• Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Director Security, Hotel.
• Respond to any changes in the department function as dictated by the park.
• Project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.
• Have a complete understanding of the Department Operations Manual and Policies and Procedures.
Occasional Duties
• Assist in carrying out quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned.
Qualifications
Ideally with a professional diploma or certificate in Safety and Security. Minimum 2 years work experience as Assistant Security Manager, or Senior Security Officer in larger operation.
Good practical, operational and adequate administrative skills are an asset.
