WE ARE LOOKING FOR an Assistant Banquets Manager
Job Summary:
The Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Banquets Manager to join our team.
The Assistant Banquet Manager will be responsible for managing banquet events at the hotel. This person supervises event room set-ups, service, and maintenance of all banquet functions and banquet equipment. This role is a highly detailed role within the hotel to complete event requirements and create an appealing experience for guests.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Assisting in planning and organizing events, including setting up, managing, and breaking down banquet spaces.
• Ensure all event details are aligned with client specifications and expectations.
• Working closely with clients, event planners, and other departments within the hotel.
• Address and resolve client or guest related complaints promptly and professionally.
• Oversee the setup of tables, chairs, linens, and décor according to event requirements.
• Ensure the proper setup of catering stations and any other event-specific needs.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels for banquet supplies.
• Prepare post-event reports, including attendant, revenue, and any operational challenges.
• Ensure all billing and payment processes are completed accurately in the POS and Evention.
• Ensure all events comply with health and safety regulations, including food safety, emergency procedures, and workplace safety.

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• Refined verbal communication skills
• Minimum 2 years banquet leadership experience preferred.
• Experience working in a union environment preferred.
• Job will require work on some weekends and nights
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
• Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Proficient in basic computer skills
