Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• The Gallery Associate is responsible for generating art sales by connecting with guests, assessing their interests and needs and educating them on our artists and their work.
• Utilizing listening skills and effective communication, the ideal candidate will be able to create a friendly, informative and memorable experience for our guests to connect with the art and to establish a client relationship with the Gallery.
• Ability to develop and foster supportive relationships with our Artists and collaborative relationships with the resort teams.
• Understands and excels at social media and content creation. Social media is a focus to promote the Gallery, it's artists, events, connecting with our client base and growing our audience.
• Responsible for general maintenance of website, including processing sales, adding new works, maintaining inventory and communication with clients.
• Responsible for adding new works into inventory system, photo file organization for inventory and website, exhibit labels and information.
• Responsible for organizing, scheduling and sharing event information with resort teams.
• Participate in merchandising of the Gallery, exhibitions and displays across the resort.
• Responsible for receiving, packing and shipping of artwork.
• Follows all company procedures to safeguard the assets, colleagues, and guests of Wild Dunes Resort.
• Participates in all resort training programs to gain property knowledge needed to meet/exceed company standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for guests and associates.
• Flexible schedule that may include a combination of weekday, weekend days and event evenings.
• Includes hands on work, such as artwork handling, installation, packing and shipping and climbing ladders.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with fine art and a knowledge of art terms.
• Previous sales, retail, merchandising and customer service experience.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft suite, Excel spreadsheets, Canva, POS, Inventory systems, Shopify and Omnisend.
• Graphic design skills and writing skills utilized to create promotional materials and Gallery content.
• Excellent organizational skills, strategic thinking skills, combined with strong verbal and written skills for professional communication with client base.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work; ability to work unsupervised and make decisions and solve problems independently, effectively and creatively.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues and artists.
• Ability to handle and hang art, lift 50 pounds, climb a 3 ftladder and stand for extended periods of time.
