I have three instances of unemployment since I began working in the hospitality industry. The first lasted for a year, the second one, was for four months and the recent one which is still going on since May 2018.
The recent one being the longest ever, yet I have been handling it successfully without being stressed and worried. Because I know leaving my last job was well-thought and the most appropriate decision. Having no new job in hand, I took the risk and decided to quit as I wanted to take a fresh breath.
Having no interview calls lined up, no financial backup I am still living as happily as I can. I can do so because I strongly believe in living for today. I face a new day as it comes my way and as a new challenge without expecting from life and people. I do not feel worried, nor do I plan about how am I going to face my tomorrow. Each day I live doing my routine differently. And therefore, the chances of my getting disappointed is absolutely zero. So, the zero disappointments make me feel happy and not unsecured. What makes me keep going despite having crossed 24 months of unemployment is my faith in self. I did have bitter days in my past but, it was never so devastated. I also ensure my present does not become unstable, so I am very much confident about my better future. Situations can never defeat my spirit and morale because I never give up and know how to make unfavourable situations to work in my favour.
