Hoteliers live a life that is beyond the one in glamour or limelight.
People working in the hospitality industry play a dual role; at home, personal and professional at work. Once we swipe in at the time office, we sign off the personal life. While dressing up in the locker room, we not only wear the uniform but also wear a mask that covers our real face. Along with our casual clothes, we lock all our problems, worries, stress, anxiety and; we walk in confidence with a smile on our face. Whether at the back or the front of the house, every individual plays a lead role at his level. Without flashing lights and rolling cameras, we perform a live act for a minimum of 9 hours, any mistakes made, there is no re-take so, the role-play has to be perfect. We face many situations, guests with different temperaments, work pressure, sometimes unfavourable working conditions; no matter whatever the case maybe we cannot escape and are not allowed to forget to smile, smile and just smile.
Working in the hospitality industry is not that easy; one cannot always follow the books and become successful. It is an art which we enhance through the experiences we go through in our day to day working life. We master this art and become a successful service provider, a hotelier.
