From quitting her job to starting India's biggest food and travel platform.
She is Kamiya Jani.
Founder and Editor-In-Chief of Curly Tales
But how did she manage to get there?? . One day Kamiya's mother was watching a news channel on TV.
Unko “news anchor" ki anchoring itni acchi lagi that her mother said-
"Yeh anchoring bahut acchi karti hai"
Hearing that, Kamiya thought- "This seems interesting and even my mother liked it. So, why not become a news anchor?"
Kamiya now started dreaming of becoming a news anchor?
It became her mission. She wanted to hit the bulls-eye? . . So, she got into Mumbai's RD National College to study journalism.
Getting into her dream course, she now wanted to start learning. .
So, she went all in and learned a lot about reporting, editing, production, and more.
Bahut kuch seekhne and college khatam hone ke baad-
Kamiya started working as a personal finance writer at moneycontrol.com.
Acchi job thi, sab kuch tha, but she had the hunger to grow more. . . Toh unhone alag alag news channels mai apply kiya✅
And waha as a sub-editor, video producer, and writer bhi kaam kiya.
After learning the tricks of the trade and putting in five years of hard work
Kamiya finally managed to bag the coveted news anchor position with ET Now.
She even got her 7 AM prime-time show in which she used to say-
“Goodmorning! You are watching Morning Mantra on ET Now. I am Kamiya Jani”. . . She was really enjoying the atmosphere of the news studio but she wanted to travel the world.
Unko thodi travel assignments bhi mili during her job, but-
Ek baar aap yatra karna shuru kardete ho, toh sirf yatra karne ka hi man karta hai. . So, she decided to quit her job and start Curly Tales.
Quite instantly, Kamiya could identify a gap in the market and that was-
There weren’t any platforms dedicated to local discovery, travel and recommendations.
So, she took the plunge and started one in 2017. . . And the rest they say is history?
