Job Description For Asst. Manager- IT

Role Overview:
The Assistant IT Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining the hotel's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and software systems. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our Property Management System (Opera) and Point of Sale System (Touche), alongside maintaining high availability and security of our VMware-based server environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Server and Virtualization Management:
• Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure.
• Ensure NAS storage systems are efficiently configured and maintained.
• Perform regular backups, updates, and troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime.
• Network Administration:
• Oversee the hotel's network, ensuring robust connectivity across all areas.
• Monitor and resolve network performance issues and implement necessary upgrades.
• Manage firewalls, routers, switches, and access points to ensure security and reliability.
• Software Systems Support:
• Administer the Opera Property Management System and Touche Point of Sale System.
• Provide support and training to staff on IT systems and applications.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and seamless integration between systems.
• IT Support and Troubleshooting:
• Act as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues within the property.
• Provide prompt technical support to staff and escalate critical issues when necessary.
• Implement preventive measures to minimize system failures.
• Security and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for IT security.
• Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments of IT systems.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery plans.
• Collaboration and Vendor Management:
• Liaise with vendors and service providers for maintenance and procurement of IT equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand IT requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing VMware environments and server infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, and wireless networking.
• Familiarity with Opera and Touche systems is highly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
